The term you’re looking for is Avgeek. There are also tons of “plane-spotters” around the world that photograph airplanes as they come into airports to land/takeoff.

I want to get some time in the 206 this summer. I’m still low time in the 182 and want to get 20 more hrs in it first. I don’t carry more than two passengers, but think the 206 would be a nice ride for them. The hourly cost isn’t an issue. Just seems like a lot of plane, even though I’m sure it’s not much more to fly than the 182s.

Did your buddy tell you about the Colorado smell in it?

I'm sure going from a 182 to a 206 is no big deal at all. He didn't!

It was a Colorado airplane and had a strong smell of the ganja.

That's funny. I was one mountain range over when they picked up that plane. I need to come check it out next time I'm up that way

...^^^... That is really a cool pic ... fixed wing aircraft (when they are on final) seem like they are just hanging in the air & defying gravity.

There's a tiny community (10 buildings) next to Fairchild AFB that, in the 70's and 80's, was home to a family of plane-spotters. Turns out they were Russians paying attention to the comings and goings and B-52s.

Joke was on the USSR - they were fudging their reports. They'd gone native and decided it was better to be Americans than Russians.

What a mess in Nashville this morning...

John C. Tune Airport, Nashville International's sister airport in West Nashville, “sustained significant damage due to severe weather," spokeswoman Kym Gerlock said in a statement early Tuesday morning. Several hangars have been destroyed and power lines are down, she said, adding that there are no reported injuries.

Saw that when I turned on the TV this morning. Sucks, but better to destroy some hangars than houses.

I got sucked into Garmin Experimental and Dynon experimental websites, I now want to spend a couple grand on just panels.

Also been watching a lot of videos on kitfoxes and now watching a video on floatplane flying, it's making me miss flying more than I have been.
