You lose a lot of perspective from altitude, and even more through an old iPad Air 2 camera lens, but the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico look especially rugged. I would love to explore this region if I could do it safely.

Taken from 41,000ft heading southwest, passing near the town of Guachochi

Do you know what N-number this is? Who ever bought my dads D-17 painted it in a similar scheme. Here is N18777 when I knew her, flying off the Palos Verdes coastline.

...^^^... 50 years ago when CA was ... "A Super Place To Live" ... before the big crowds came ... :)

I used to live part time in Mill Valley, CA in the early 1980's ... loved that place ... too expensive and crowded today though.

NC 238 is all I can see after editing and zooming the photo. I can stop back by next week and look specifically for it for ya..if it is still around!

Got a new phone yesterday so I set out this evening to try out the camera. I also got to watch somebody doing aerobatics over the lake, so I orbited and watched for a while. Never seen an air show from the air before! Also, gas is $3.00/g at my home base airport. What a deal! I haven’t even looked at other airports that are usually cheaper but I’m sure they’re under $3.

So I've been told at an average of 5,500 daily passengers right now (down from an average of 45 to 50,000) that Sky Harbor is the 3rd busiest airport in the US currently. American has asked for 20 long term parking spots so when that starts stacking up we've planned to close half of a taxiway and start lining them up. XoJet pilot told me along with Netjets they've actually had an increase in flights! Stay safe out thereIMG_0688.jpg

A friend of mine is in training at XOJet. I was surprised they're still holding classes but evidently they're seeing more business. My company sure isn't getting that treatment.
