You guys are good. Launch Complex 39A which is being used by SpaceX currently only has 1 Hydrogen(RP-1) storage ball.

Launch complex 39B which is where SLS will launch from requires vastly more LH2 thus the secondary storage ball being built. When completed, it will be the largest liquid hydrogen storage facility in the world.

I am parked on 39B Pad Surface on the Lh2 side.

I spent time at both of the pads in the 70’s and 80’s with my Grandfather who was a Aero Space Engineer worked on the Saturn LEM and shuttle programs w/Grumman. Amazing place to hangout as a kid around some great people in the space program during that time...

Back when men were men. And they were inventing a lot of the tooling they needed to press forward.

Security has changed a lot since those days and probably mostly since 9/11. I hear stories about those guys keeping a government funded keg tapped all day at Kars II park.

It is a 109! This particular one was shot down in Russia, landed on a frozen lake where it was used for target practice and when spring came, sat at the bottom of a lake until the 90’s. They had a few of the original wing skins with holes in them. Pretty neat. The place that was working on it does P51 restorations mostly.

Pretty rare sight these days, so I snapped a couple of not so great pics to share.

Yeah, Beech 18. Cuz the only sound nicer than a P&W R985, is two P&W R985's.
