    Spent the day with the TX ANG yesterday. They had some guys do their retirement flights and also had a ceremony honoring the retirement of the -H airplanes to be replaced with the -J models. Water cannon solute, a few low passes, and showering the crew when they stepped off the planes sure was fun to witness. What an awesome group of people there

    Was at my local airport (KVBT) today waiting for the weather to clear and watched the local hoarder have to clean out his hanger to get to the amphib caravan in the back to take the fam to one of the lake houses for the 4th. Looked like a lot of work. He had to pull out both P-51s, the bearcat, an old French jet fighter I'd never seen, and a heuy. I almost felt bad for him. Hope those going to the lake houses appreciate what it took to get the caravan out.

    I know I've posted pictures of his P-51s, supermarine spitfire, super corsair, but don't think I've shown his Bearcat. Here is the Bearcat. I haven't got to see it fly yet.

    By the way, the weather never cleared. I was flying down to Fly into Byrd's Adventure Center's Two Grass Airstrip Runways (byrdsadventurecenter.com) but maybe another day.

    is that next to the Flat Earth Navigation panel? or have those been eliminated and corrected for in the Garmin units?
