finally got some shots of the Space X crew. been trying to catch them all week! they started circling the valley about an hour ago. thought they were all done and then my picture frames started rattling and the MIG took off. JHC that thing is fast! Between its speed and the low light right now my camera said "nope". But I did get some shots of the others - the alpha jets and L39's

these guys came in too. different paint schemes but they all look like L39's :notsure: maybe more crew? dunno...

The only pic I got for the day.. the Super Hornets were flying to damn fast, and people getting in the way of the static placements. Was a good time though.

Too bad the C130Js can't refuel the Jayhawks, that'd be an awesome demo.

Yes it would. Or a simulated recovery of a person in the basket to the Helo.

I get the safety concerns and all. But giving the public a little more show, would definitely give more respect to ‘em. The general public (young an old) loves aircraft like I do. Giving them a tad more would be awesome. Don’t get me wrong… it was still a good time.

We actually do a ton of SAR demos. Takes a bit more time in an airshow slot though.

    Rite rite.

Just thinking out loud. Maybe the ARMY or Marines could sling load of a HMMWV for pick up or drop off. Like you said, time requirements.

    Just the basics
The airshow at MCAS Miramar includes a MAGTF (Marine Air Ground Task Force) demonstration that sometimes includes sling loads.

Years ago at Seafair there was a demo of a Chinook landing in the water and launching a boat then recovering it. That was a really cool demo to see done.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I remember going to the airshows here at Paine Field in the early '90s and seeing them doing sling load demonstrations and all kinds of neat stuff; wing walkers, simulated strafing runs with explosives and fire, multiple different demo teams, haven't seen anything like it since.

Agreed.. as a kid they did all kinds of neat stuff. Todays, toned down isn’t bad, just needs something more.

I remember seeing similar as a kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
