Did you read what I wrote?
Do you understand how poorly they did their jobs, including a probable death if one of them had rotated three feet to the right?
Do you have any inkling how horrific it would have been if he had gotten hurt or worse?
Did any of the three in this incident meet the minimum standards of professional line personnel?
If their incompetence allows them to make these simple, egregious errors ... then what else are they capable of?

But your stated concern revolves around a term used on an internet forum. Nice.

After landing at the next airport I called the FBO manager and had a good conversation with her about what we experienced. She was receptive. While turnover at that FBO seemed high, we never saw those individuals again.

Please move along and kumbaya elsewhere.

I used to work the line and I referred to myself as a ramp rat. I would never call a stranger a ramp rat. That's reserved for making fun of my closest friends, who have also migrated from the ramp into the cockpit.

Haha, when I used to work as a functional test mechanic on the production line I sometimes referred to my position as "airplane doctor." We maybe weren't always the ones to fix it but it was our job to figure out why the plane didn't work right and what need to be done to make it work. It was usually the wire shop people that were our "nurses." But in the same vein most of us would have equally embraced being referred to as sparkys.

Cool thread, good to see so many pilots here. I started flying in 1990, and did a summer working line service. I can’t recall ever being called “ramp rat”, but I don’t think it would have bothered me. Anyway, cool pics and stories in here.

Flying over 810 hours in a year is a lot. I’m guessing you fly airlines? Even with my time at different fractionals, usually only did 500 hours a year.

Yes, I fly for an airline. I’m a single income family in the Bay Area so I tend to fly a lot.
Hawaii makes working WAY easier. It doesn’t really feel much like work.

i see LVK on his map, it would be hard to imagine SWA flying into LVK considering the local residents despise that airport for GA pattern work.

I run my body into the ground every week as an A&P stripping and rebuilding V2500s, PW2000s, and a handful of other turbines at a part 121, but soon i hope to become an pilot myself. Currently have my PPL and almost done with Instrument.

Very cool man. As you know, it is a great time to be a pilot, lots of demand.

Not reaching the east coast is a success in my book!

I ended 2022 with 371 hours, down from 446 in 2021. Likely due to the few months of sitting around I did at the beginning of 2022 when I was in the training pipeline for a new job.

So stoked to find an aviation thread on TW!
CJR, HWY, OMH are "local" and HEF is about an hour away from me. I'm hoping to set up a discovery flight this month and start the process to get my SPL.
    Any recommendations for a newbie?

Dive in head first and enjoy the process. The more you train and study, the faster you’ll finish - seems obvious, but you’ll retain the info and muscle memory better if you train often.

I learned to fly at LVK, taught there, and now I rent planes there. That’s my home airport.
