...^^^... Makes me think what a beautiful machine the AH-64 is and what is the ... "total cost per flying hour" ... to fly such a bird ... considering R&D, manufacturing, maintenance, fuel & etc. (without expended ordinance).

One of my US Army buddies flew AH-64A's in Desert Storm and was very involved with enemy contact and loved his aircraft.


On a lighter note ....

We have several different people that come and go in our "little breakfast club" at Chick-fil-A ... a bunch of "military has beens" ... lol.

One guy has a USAF DFC embossed on his Georgia license plate. He never talks about his service or his Distinguished Flying Cross except to say ... he flew F-4's over the "The North" (RVN).

Another USCG guy got a DFC for rescuing a bunch of "souls" on a sinking ship in bad weather.

We had an older guy, who passed away, and Oscar got a DFC in WW2 for saving his bomber crew over Germany.

Several with Silver Stars too ... and nobody ever talks about what they really did in any detail ... it's like their military service never happened.

This thread brings back a lot of bittersweet memories.

This would have looked a lot cooler if I had a good camera. The sun was perfectly behind the plane and it was awesome. My 4 year old phone doesn't capture it very well.

 

For those that don't hang out in the corporate side of aviation, you might not have noticed how prevalent the Pilatus PC-12 has become. They are everywhere now and it looks like Cessna is trying to get a piece of that pie. I thought this article was interesting.

Had a buddy working here back in 2003 before transferring out to TIA very impressive place I slobbered all over myself for 3 hours walking around inside....

Got a very up close tour of a 747-400.....Like sitting in the left seat close..

Kind of an odd looking aircraft ... long nose topped off with a single multi-bladed prop.

Always wondered why such a large aircraft had a single power plant.

Saw 2 of those at work today. Really neat airplanes. I also got to see an Apache come in and land, and see an original split window Corvette with 26 original miles on it. Another cool day today!
