I thought that I would do a quick write up on the install of the Avid Off Road Front Bumper Guard on my Tacoma.

When I started looking at bumpers/ bumpers w/ winches/ bull bars and such, I really liked the aggressive look of the Avid Front Bumper Guard. At this point with the truck, I doubt that I will be doing hardcore off-road things, so I didn’t want the added weight and cost of a winch bumper. It might be a topic I revisit later on down the road however.

Hopefully I can cover some of the things that someone looking considering the Avid might like to see. The guard does have a different look depending on the angle and color combination of the truck. I tried to take pics that would give a clear picture of what it looks like installed at different angles.

^ The pics above show the installation points on each side. There are 2 nuts to remove to attach the bumper.

^ This is a close up of it installed on one side. The pic was taken from the inside of the front looking back at the installation points, so the orientation is off in the pic. Also this is after a trimmed the plastic at the bottom with box cutter for easier access.

Some more shots around the truck:

Also, the radar on the cruise control does still function properly:
