Avid off-road 3rd gen bumper guard paint

    2016 TRD Sport
    i got the bumper guard from Avid off-road. I needed my bumper fixed so I thought it was perfect timing. The body shop said they could paint and install bumper guard. Then They said they couldn’t paint it because it’s bare metal. They said powder coat first then they could paint it to match body color. I’m no painter but does that make sense. I know I’ve seen this guard painted body color but can’t find the post now. I’m north of Atlanta looking for a shop that can help.
