You would think that salt would not get in the tubes, but it does. Every pair of nerf bars I've owned starts to rot after 3-4 years. I got the ones on my truck back in 2008 and saw some surface rust this last week, pulled the end caps and sure enough the inside is rusted. Next ones are solid sliders, n fab etc..pisses a guy off.

Got N-Fabs installed last weekend. So far, love them. What I wanted them for and if they hold up. I'll be happy.

^I second that. Can't comment on Avids since I've only had N-Fabs, but they've been on my truck for three weeks now and I have no complaints.

Sorry, but I just can't tell from the pics if these are 2" or 3". Thanks for all the MGM pics with the N-fab bars. I'm thinking all three are 2" and I like the look. Just want to make sure before I pull the trigger. At first, I was thinking 3", but if these are 2", that's what I'm going with. I plan on getting them Line-X'd, so that should give them a little more depth as well. If these are 2", thinking the 3" might be just a little big for my taste. TIA.

They mount to existing holes under the cab. Look again. Maybe the holes are capped with something and you overlooked it.
