102,000 Miles on my 2011, 4 wheel drive and bounce around a construction site each work day. Regular maintenance, Only put on new brakes and a new blower motor(chirping).

Aside from the chirping blower motor, I haven't had any issues with my 2011 (knock on wood).

I love this truck. You won't be disappointed, OP!

My '11 has been great. Only warranty work was the blower motor chirp... I went to the dealer and they mentioned it was a pretty common complaint and replaced right away under the TSB.

When you pull the trigger, get a V6.

I have a large pop up (about 3,300# loaded), so I'm definitely getting the V-6. I'd like the long bed...but that would be awful tight in my 24'x24' garage. I figure I'd have about 6" between the back bumper and the workbench and about 6" between the front bumper and the garage door.

I've got my eye on an off road, but I'll be just as happy if I end up with a sport.

When I was in the market to purchase a new truck in 2011, I consulted CR as I believe they have some credence. that year, for the first time the Tacoma was relegated to 2nd place with the Nissan Frontier earning their top recommendation, primarily due to Toyota's lack of a real redesign change. they have downgraded the Tacoma further every year since then for similar reasons-------rough ride, dated interior, non-family friendly (all reasons I disagree with), all while barely mentioning their admitted liking of the tacomas reliability, off-road capability, cargo hauling, etc..................all reasons real people may buy a TRUCK :annoyed:

As others have stated, aside from the blower motor (replaced free) my '11 has had ZERO problems. sorry for the long post...............

Mine is a 2010 and the blower motor chirped until I got it replaced so I do think that was a problem for just the 2011s.

So, how much credit do you expect your opinion of other people's opinions of CR's filtered published reviews to have? Expect none unless looking for disappointment.

No, it is not just 2011 problem. It involves all prior 2nd gen trucks as well.

I read somewhere that a Ridgeline was based of the chassis for the Odyssey. I'm not sure how true that it, but I get a kick out of a truck being built from a minivan frame.

I like the 2011 grill as well.

I've got just over 40k on my 2011. I've had no real complaints. I had the rear leaf TSB done, as well as the blower motor. I also had the driverside door seal replaced, but that's because the original got pinched. It was no fault of the seal, but I still got it replaced under warranty. Overall, I've been very happy, and would certainly buy again.

I have a 2011 that I bought in October '10 and no problems other than the chirping noise from the fan as mentioned above. Now, what I don't get is why Toyota stopped putting XM on the 2011 unless you had the JBL system. It was on the '10 and back on the 2012 but I think this was Toyota wide. Not just limited to the Tacoma.

Love mine, had the annoying chirp warranty fix. Also had the clutch plate pretty much implode, also covered by warranty. And a picture:

HMMM.....Well, I guess I am in the minority. I do not have the CD changer in mine. Maybe that's the cause. However, a buddy mine has a '10 equipped the same way mine is just different color that has XM with the basic radio...:notsure:

I'm not looking to jack the thread, but there is a difference between opinions and facts. I suppose you don't look at the ratings on Amazon before you decide to plunk down your $ for a product? Nothing like going into a purchase blind. I'm perfectly happy with my '05, and I bought it before CR ever did a review.

I also purchased a dehumidifier using the high ratings from CR and it was a huge piece of shit. Basically, CR is one more tool in the box to help you make a decision. But ultimately you are buying a piece of machinery made by humans, so you either get a good one or a lemon.

I never like CR although I always read the reviews. My buddy who worked for Nissan R&D got a subscription for me through Nissan. For electronics etc their reviews weren't that good. For cars I think they are terrible.

I tend to listen to the Car & Driver, Road & Track, and forums like these for reviews.

I have a 2011 Tacoma DCSB TRD Sport edition. I read some reviews saying that on road Nissan Frontier was a better drive. CR said Tacoma had spongy acceleration, short seats, and bad breaks.

Nearly 34K miles on my Tacoma and no issues. Seats are comfortable. The truck drives like a car on road.

The only thing I have done to it is Leaf springs TSB.
