Hey guys! Just posted a vid of my experience changing the rear diff oil in my 2014 TRD Off-Road. You too can avoid the stealership and save yourself some money! It's that easy. Enjoy.

Cool vid, but, you changed your rear diff fluid but went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change?

Yep... I inquired and was told $320+ for all 3. Did it myself with synthetic gear oil for $70... and $10 of that was for that pump. There is already a sticky of this, but good video, nonetheless.

Lol, yeah I had a coupon so the regular oil change was literally less than the cost of buying the oil and doing it myself.

Yikes, sounds about right for inflated dealership prices.

Once the bulk of the fluid is out, I like to jack up one side under the axle (where the shock mounts) for 2-3 minites to help drain the axle tube. Then repeat on the other side.

Then once it begins to drip out of the fill hole during the refilling...I like to let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the the axles fill up then add a bit more if needed

This maintenance item is my litmus test for the integrity of a service department. They will tell you every time you take it in for inspection that this needs to be done; the price they quote is what I judge them on. I had one dealership quote me $90 to change it with a HEPA filter -- I drive with the windows down half the time.

This one is really easy unless the stealership puts it in sideways. I got it out by tearing it out.
