I have the standard AVS in channel and they work great! I too had to send my first set back ha

You can still get your soap mitt underneath them when you wash your truck. I think with the low profiles you wouldnt be able to. Not that is a huge deal or anything. I wash my truck just a handful of times of year, but always seem to notice this when i do.

I have used both WeatherTech and AVS in-channel versions in the past. Both are solid options. I've settled on AVS mostly because they are less expensive when I am shopping for them. And if any of you are still smokers out there, do not get the slim version. Stick to the standard.

I’ve had avs in channel for months now and no problem. Just know that once you get the in channel rain guards on and keep it on with the window up for a long period of time, the window run channel molding might deform a little, or I’ve been told.

AVS standard in-channel, no blind spot by the mirror vs WT.

I believe that the weather techs go farther down the length of the window frame possibly blocking part of the mirror view? That’s my take on it anyway.

On second thought I’m stumped too, the wt can’t go any further down on the frame than the others, not sure? I’m stumped, but that doesn’t take much!

The WTs I looked at went down to the mirror and then turned down and continued to the bottom window seal but I dont think it would matter much.

Right - they do come all the way to the bottom of the channel. But, first...you can see through them but they don't extend anywhere near into view of your mirror. Second, the mirror itself creates a "blind spot" since you can't see through that. I actually had to go sit in my truck to try to figure this out. I must be missing something.

OP. Just for comparison sake, this is the same type photo with AVS installed. Basically the only real difference between the two. You can't go wrong with either choice. Just make sure to keep pressure towards the outside of the vehicle on the vents when rolling up the window right after install. This will ensure you won't crack them and allow window to roll up fully. I cracked a set once not doing this, that's how I know.

The fact that the AVS leave that small bottom front trim uncovered is there any problem when the window is cracked with rain coming in at that point? I like the AVS look better but the WT seems like better coverage.
I assume that with the window only down an inch or two that uncovered portion would still be sealed against the trim, at least that’s what it looks like in mine.

I’ve had weathertechs on my 2nd gen. No issues but decided to go with avs on my 3rd gen. Should be here tomorrow. The price point on the ava is definitely a plus. Trying out the low pro dark smoke
