Just picked up my 17 off road today and I'm looking to put a roll out awning on one the factory rails. Is it possible? Anyone have any pics?

How you liking that awning? I was about to purchase that one because it is literally the only awning compatible with our oem roof racks, but all the reviews say it's cheap and flimsy in any wind. True?

Main reason why I chose the Yakima was because

    1. I can easily put on in and off vehicle (I don’t always leave it on and use it on multiple vehicles). 2. It was on sale at the time I needed one. 3. Light enough (about 20lbs) for my wife to install.

I also let my friends use it on several occasions and they seem to like it. Is it flimsy? Yes it is kinda weak in my opinion, I wouldn’t dare use it with any wind at all. I already bent the flimsy aluminum when a gush high winds came by but I guess it was my fault I don’t tie it down securely. Overall, I’m happy with it and it does what it’s suppose to do. If you plan on leaving yours on and/or use yours often. I’d look at other alternatives.

My future plan is if your when this one doesn’t functioning or break I plan one using the the Yakima awning mounts on a new ARB awning. Good luck in your search.

Perfect, thanks for the review/info. I definitely am looking into a sturdier one because it's windy all the time in Hawaii.
However, most other brands don't offer any type of mounting to the OEM roof rack so I'm stuck trying to decide if I'm going to sell my roof rack and get a prinsu.
