Just finished a front suspension lift on my sons (soon to own, first car) 99 five lugger. NICE:),what a difference. Now regarding the rear, i thought i could just throw on an add a leaf with a couple longer u bolts. The axle is on top of the leafs tho. I'm lost, will a aal still work? Seems like if I ad a leaf under the axle tube i'll be lowering the truck. I'll get a before and after pic up soon. It actually sits pretty nice i just like to see a bit more clearance in the rear.

    235's x 15 with d slot black steel wheels.

Longer shackles are a good option if you don't want to replace the springs.

Add a leaf will give more arch to the springs which will lift it

good, a couple options, thanks much. turns out now the kid really like the rake look. I was thinking more to level off the suspension. however i guess the prerunner look it in. i've learned the low budget lift options are very limited with these 5luggers. We install a polly spacer on top of the spring (total 2" of lift maybe). i know it's not the best way but for now it works. It would sure be nice to gain another 1" minimum lift up front. as soon as i can figure how to post a picture or two i will. future plans or options might be a body lift, unless there is another way to gain another 1 to 1-1/2" up front. spindle opt too much $.

you can see the need for a little more clearance. the lift sure did help tho.

I just saw these on line for $400. Probably worth the dollars and much better than the body lift.I'll have the kid start saving $.

yes please avoid the body lift at all costs. what your paying for the the body lift is what youll pay for spindles

Add a leaf will add arch to spring but at same time however thick it is u can deduct from overall lift you would be getting. Would work like a lowering block on a mini truck. What u really need is a spring flip kit to put spring over axle to achieve an actual lift.

^^ untrue. If the spring you add is at the bottom of the spring pack and not above the main leaf(closest to the axle with sua) you wont lose any lift. Only thing youll lose is about 1/4 inch of clearance which isnt much. Aal is meant to add arc to the springs like you said. Just make sure its installed above the overload spring and you get the long aal not the short.
