    Not uncommon.
Do a search in 1st gen for relocation plate. Not title. Course you’ll get results for plate & other relocation stuff, like shocks. Anyway, there are references to them here & there & then a rather lengthy discussion in the “what have you done today” forum.

This is in park. Level surface. I can see where it used to set under the same circumstances.
Oh, & my wheelbase is off. Both sides. 129.75. Supposed to be 129.
Apples to oranges? I don’t know. Alls I’m sayin is it adds up to the axle being back.
Bugs me. Bugs me because I don’t know why. Wish I did. I’ve had it looked at professionally. Nothing other than the suggestion of longer shackles, which doesn’t set right with me.
So, why not attempt to fix it….

Are you referring to the relocation plates to center the axle? Yes, that is an issue with the double cabs. I think Parks Off Road was the first to address this issue. It’s not bad on non lifted truck but gets more noticeable with a lift. I have one on my AP Expo springs with an AAL and it was a bear to get it aligned and tightened down, but I have had no issues one installed. Not sure if this is your issue or not.

Yes. Those are the plates. Although mine's an x-tra cab. I was just curious if the plates would work with the stock or stock aftermarket overload leaf, being that it's arched downwards. That's why I started the thread. Then many tried to help figure out why my rear wheels are set back.

I did get one side lined up & then realized I should have bought 2" or 2.25". I bought 2.5", so grinding them down a bit tomorrow.

Anyway, unless someone pipes in & says NG with the overload leaf, I guess I'll be trying it tomorrow. I can always dismantle if need be, remove that leaf, add a short aal & try it again....

& thank you for posting that it is a real thing.... I mean issue....

As long as your plate sits flat on the spring it should work.

If you need a shim could be welded to the plate to keep the spring on a level bearing surface..

I think we were more trying to figure out what caused your problem then your need to do it.

Best of luck !! Pictures when this is finished Please!!

A little late, however I missed your comments up top.
The "block" is the relocation plate.
I thought the leaf at the bottom of the pack was called an overload leaf (not overleaf. not sure were you got that). Please correct me if I am wrong.
& I thought that whenever operating angles were off to a certain degree, they should be addressed.

    Ok. Thank you!
& the help does not go unappreciated. It would have been & still would be great to figure out what caused the problem!
    Will do....

    As “promised”

before - off 1in. 22” center hub to fender flare
    IMG_2207.jpg
After - measures pretty much smack dab in the middle. That’s at 23”, center hub to fender flare.

    IMG_2758.jpg
Now for my driveshaft angles - they have been off for a while, however I wanted to get the wheels adjusted 1st. I had thought maybe shimming the pinion downward would bring the wheels forward, however according to a Tom woods employee, that’s a no.

Has your spring shifting impacted the ride and handling at all that you noticed??

I’ve had some vibes, however I don’t know if this contributed. Probably doesn’t help that the slip yoke was out farther than normal. Course, as I stated, the driveshaft angles are off & have been off. So bottom line is I couldn’t tell you. I’m getting an alignment on Monday, so maybe after I’ll go for a highway run & see if anything’s changed.

oh, & there was that weird drifting thing. I think you had asked me if it was like wagon wheels in a track. Now that you mention it ;), I didn’t notice that today. Although it may be that I have acclimated to it, so I’ll try & pay attention to it.

That pic where its off center makes it seem like your driveshaft isn't long enough.
Have you looked into driveshaft spacers?
Added length could help level out your d.shaft angles.

You mean the 1st pic in which the wheel is set back?
This is what the driveshaft looked like before I pulled the wheels forward

This is now, 2nd & 3rd pic above

The 3rd pic looks like the rear wheels are too far ahead.
An alignment should cure the drifting.

That's just the angle or the phone. Both the 2nd & 3rd are after pics.
