    Hey all,
It’s cold here in MN, and every time I’ve come back from the car wash. Something is freezing up the next time I go to drive it. I’m not using the parking break, so I’m guess the axle itself is freezing up? Could it be anything else? And it it okay to just give it a little gas and break it loose? Thanks!

In MN as well and mine has done this since it was new. Best thing I found is drive until everything gets a chance to dry out.

    Or just live with it.

Yeah you’ll be fine. Same here in the cities. Once in a while I have to lock the rear diff to get it to break the ice while keeping traction

I'd suggest drive it slow and take a fairly long drive after car wash. Best yet don't do car wash unless it's +5F or warmer. Your Tacoma won't fall apart from a bit of dirt and winter road crap.

I used to work in an auto shop. Whatever they put on the roads in MN is absolutely nasty. So much more rust than cars from the surrounding states.

I never wash any of my vehicles unless it’s above freezing. If you live in a region that’s freezing all winter then I would go with @canuck guy idea drive around until it’s dry.

I know that’s why I try to coat the undercarriage and wash it often. But this winter it’s hard to wash it when it’s not freezing out

I always had issues with my rear drums since the truck was new. Seizing after washing, squealing, ect. I recently had the drums and shoes replaced and it's made a huge difference.

It might be time. It's only a few hundred for new shoes and drums.
