So, how much of a lift is this putting on your rig?

14” 650#’s installed today. So far the ride is nice. Gained a little lift, stiffened up and less preload. Happy with the results

Forgive me for not reading back.. but have you added a bunch of weight to merit a 650lb coil?? I have the 2.5s with the 13” 600lb coil and I’m thinking of switching to a 14” 600lb

I originally had the 2.5’s with 13” 600# coils on my 2wd, seemed fine. Once I traded in and swapped parts to my 4wd it just didn’t feel the same. I can tell the weight difference was affecting the front suspension. Just felt way to soft. Had a friend point out my coils were bowed and were starting to rub the shocks. Did some research and found out I needed to swap coils. So I switched out to the 14” 650#’s... so far the ride is nice. A little stiffer, and front end sits a little higher. As for added weight... nothing so far. Just my skids and sliders

Okeydokey.. did you happen to measure hub to fender before and after? Or measure the threads? I’m about to put these coilovers on next week. Truck has 200miles on it and I just want this done right

Sorry but no I didn’t measure anything. I would recommend not adding to much preload in the beginning. Break them in and see how they feel. Take it out wheeling and see how the coils feels.

Drive characteristics are a lot of the time preference of the driver. @AY_ARONTRD felt like the front was too soft, even with no real additional weight and his coils were bowed from the amount of preload he already had.

Going to a 14” coil at the same spring weight will allow you to add more preload but won’t net huge drive characteristic differences.

Cool thanks.. we spoke about this previously @desertjunkie760. I’m still on the fence about it.. i already have the 600lb 14” coils (kings coils) someone gave me. so why not swap em out before i install. Coilovers are DSCD so i can stiffen them up a bit if need be.. thanks for the input. Don’t want to hijack this thread anymore than i have..

    Thanks

If you’ve already got 14” 650lbs and it’s not too much of a hassle to put them on, shocks aren’t on the truck, I would totally go that route and see how you like it. What additional weight do you have on your rig.

It’s all good, I think? It’s relavent to the topic and @AY_ARONTRD can tell us to go away if he wants. :argue:

I'm just saying. It's not my thread so it's not my place to dictate the conversations.

Beer and food can get costly though
