Thanks for the multi-reticle opinion and EastValley Tactical.

Probably will start with iron nigh sight. Found a "GLOCK Owners United" thread under "OffTopic / Guns and Hunting" and spent a few days. Learned about co-witnessing sights and how the milled part of a 43X plate may have to modified else the 407/507 will sit too high for co-witnessing ... two rear recoil lugs filed down, front stand-off tabs and the ejector-side install screw need shortening to prevent impacting ejector performance. But also was mentioned 407 has the rear physical sight built-in.

I can safely say that that long GLOCK thread has much information about usage in general.

Literally just went over this a few days ago with a co-workers new 43x MOS and wanting to mount a 407k directly(rear built in sight). It in fact wont fit without the rear lugs completely removed and the front shaved down a tad. He originally was going to tape off and file down after I told him its easier to do that vs me trying to machine them, but then he picked up a plate and the co-witness wasnt as bad as he originally thought. I'll say the same thing I told him.. I'd try the plate first before you start filing down on your Glock..

OR.. get a 365 and you can actually direct mount :D

My concern, stupid or not, is not as much a need for "concealed" as a strong enough caliber for carry into CommieFornia (I have a G44 for practice, but not self-defense). And I shoot left handed. 365 is ambidextrous slide release (43x is not). 365XL is not California legal because of the 12-rd capacity. Sig is not the enemy, just learning and becoming sadly confused by the direction.

East Valley should be able to sort me out on this confusion. Well ... more "wanting not to spend thousands figuring it out" than "confusion". Damn ... that was trying to be adult and responsible ...

Makes sense. They make 2 ft long magazines for handguns so you can shoot for hours (then reload for hours, I guess). If someone wanted it, it has been created.

Totally get it. My uncle carries a Cali legal early release 365. (Non 17 rd). But yes.. lots of options out there.. see what you can find at EVT before committing to anything. They'll get it sorted for you.

Not sure if this makes sense, but at least it was an interesting short project ...

There is an outside/free/public range I go to for less hassle ... public just a few yards from the law-enforcement range ... big gravel-pit spaces with no target mounting gear. I went to HomeDepot and purchased some easily-assembled PVC for a frame. The box was discarded in the cart-return corral but is usable as backing for targets until it gets shot up too much.

Does this seem a waste of my time?

I don't think so at all. I was actually planning on building one or two of those myself.

bring sandbags. that big piece of cardboard will catch a lot of wind

you could even install screws in the top pipe to hang gongs.
