That's the reason for my sale, ha. I grabbed an MOS to replace the regular 43X. Glock Store claims a 10 day turn around if you send your slide to them for milling now.

Do you mean the metal mag release? Didn't realize those were being sold in stores now.

I tried the Trijicon on one pistol a while back. Couldn't believe that optic cost more than the pistol is was mounted on. Sold it and went with Holosun. Really like their SCS on the full frames. I have the 507K on my 43X MOS and Micro Dagger. The 407K has a bigger dot though. Its 6MOA where the others are just 2MOA but have the 32MOA ring. Vortex makes their CCW Defender in 3 and 6MOA dots. I don't like the battery life or the auto shutoff time.

Magazine release, yes. The S15 metal magazine kills the plastic magazine release. But then the metal magazine release can damage plastic magazines as well. Scheels carries the ShieldArms kit with the metal magazine release and an S15 magazine.

    Yeah ... 507k with multi-reticle small-dot/ring vs the large-dot of the 407k is the choice. Hmmm ...

Having a holosun on my sub compact trijicon rmr on my 19x and Leupold DPP on a fullsize I can say say the rmr is overrated a bit yes it's super rugged and will take a beating but the window size is small compared to the bigger delta point it's more comparable to my 507k holosun which is a sub compact optic and has better reticle options

If I had to do it again would have two Leupold DPP and keep the holosun on the subcompact

Cost difference between MOS and non-MOS is lower than the cost for Glock to machine-in the MOS-slot. And some people will use only iron-night-sights because they cannot adapt to the reticle-sights. I expect the transition to reticle-sights to be more than one box of range 9mm.

I just went through the same transition from irons to optics.
Snap caps are the way. A lot cheaper and after a couple hours of practicing your presentation and sight picture youll be ready to hit the range.

Thanks. Saved the link data. My G45 is still non-MOS ... when I bought it in 2020 I thought I was being brilliant by choosing the G17/G19 combination despite not knowing guns before. But I may not need to as the G43x with an S15 magazine makes it almost as capable as the G45.

There is some information I have seen in TW for how to self-modify an MOS-G43x to use Holosun 407/507 without a $50 baseplate. Maybe someone else will repeat that information about which posts to to file-down.

43X MOS with the Shield Arms mag/catch is the way...

Using a Hex Wasp that was on my old Hellcat...no baseplate required...if it ever dies, will likely run a Holosun

Helped a coworker with theirs. Just file down the lugs not needed. Been a while so I cant remember if it was front or rear. Super easy though..

Just too busy with normal work unfortunately. Every once an awhile I'll be able to sneak a side project in.. but most of the time I'm trying to do my own mods to my own shit when I get those opportunities... lol

There is something else, about not damaging the ejector components. It will come back to me, or another will say what the concern is ...

I just did it on mine. Front posts all the way down and rear posts most of the way down. My 507K sits perfectly flush now.

And the screw on the right side (if looking down the sights) needs to be shorter so it won't run into the extractor. M4 x 0.7 should be the correct size.

Yep, the screw on the right side needs to be shorter so it won't hit the extractor. M4x0.7 will fit both spot perfectly.
