what new rears did ya get?

 

Yup, upgrading the whole suspension. Had the extra cash lying around and wanted to spend it and finally get the suspension that works best with what I got and what I want to do with it.

Plus I am buying a house soon so when that happens I will really not be having too much cash to make decent purchases.

I got these and 5/8" hourglass bushings to make them work with my truck. I got an extra 1" or so of rear travel upgrading to these shocks over the 5100's with the rear aal. And I know just because the shocks longer doesnt mean I will get more travel,but I took before and after measurements (which I did not record, kind of stupid of me) and it showed close to an 1".

Oh and the Fox Tacoma shocks for anyone interested are about 3/4" shorter extended length than the 5100's...

 

Awesome! Congrats on buying a house! I know how it can put a damper on truck-related purchases though...

 

Sounds like a good plan Oli... can't wait to see it done.

As for the house... I'd really think about that one for awhile. The market has no where to go but continue to fall hard.

 

I only did it because I could get more space for significantly less money... The house costs less than my truck per month. Ha.

 

Oh I'm not saying don't do it, or that it can't work for your situation. Just, I wouldn't look at it is any type of good short term investment, and if you do have to move before/if the market turns around, prepare to get your credit score raped. That's all

 

I plan on living there for 7-10 years at which point if I decide to move out of state, have my parents help with finding a renter.

I can either rent an apartment in tempe for about 800+ utilities or have a mortgage of 750-900 a month....I know there are less expensive apartments but I am sort of comparing living arrangements to living arrangements.

 

Yea I know how you feel man, just saying I used the exact same logic though and now I'm short selling/foreclosing my house as it's about $120k underwater... That's all I'm getting at

Plus, my house just flooded, and guess who gets to foot that bill. yay. I'm just bitter and probably won't buy another house for years to come lol.

 

Ya I know what your saying. I got a steady job, some money saved up and I feel like this might be a great opportunity for me to finally sort of grow up a little and become more self sufficient.

I have looked at a bunch of houses, put an offer on one..doesnt mean they will accept it. So we will see how it all plays out but I am really hoping that this works out for and everything goes well along the bumpy road of life haha

 

Oh I might also be looking for a roommate if that might be of any interest to anyone!

hey olli, are the rear 5100's the same size and length as stock TRD or Sport trucks?

so technically I could use some of those in the rear when it's time to change them out?

 

well currently I have Oh-Man's rear shocks on mine and if the 5100's are replacements, they should fit no problem right?
