I sold my XD not all that long ago. But I just had to many 9mm's and the guy offered me more than what I bought it for, so it went. Never had any issues with it.

Guess you should sell your Toyota then with that logic, since Toyota has had many recalls and many different vehicles

 

Except Toyotas don't shoot bullets

 

Vehicles can be death traps though.

 

Sure...having the accelerator stuck and not being able to stop the vehicle is much safer

The gun will happen and there is nothing you can do about it.

 

There's not to much we can do about it. They are great guns. Im just glad that Springfield is owning up to the situation and fixing it. There are a ton of people on the internet not specifically here talking smack about these guns when they have never owned one or shot one. Everyone is allowed their own opinion. Yeah having to send it in sucks but if it saves my life then I'm okay with it. Just my .02

I've shot plenty of XD's (that the beauty of an SGC membership, you can make an educated purchase). It just didnt fit me right like the Glock and M&P did. Then combined with the sketchy article I posted I just wasn't sold. Different strokes for different folks but I personally will never buy one.

I've owned 2 XD's and I enjoyed both guns. Never really had any issues with them ever other than a few jams from cheap-old ammo. I just think with guns there needs to be a lot more quality checks that go into them before they get pushed out. Something like this could be really bad. Hell Josh was loading his at my house and it could of shot off, hit me, my wife, his GF, or one of my dogs, or taken out Josh's hand. That shit doesn't fly with me much when these gun manufactures should be doing major quality checks on these guns.. I had a Kuma 1911 (.22), cheap ass gun. It would totally fire at random for no reason. You would shoot it, it would shoot itself 2 or even 3 times without a trigger pull. Sometimes the hammer would just let go, while it was sitting on a table waiting to be shot again. I sent it in, the replaced it for free but I've never shot the gun again. It just sits there. Once I have a company give me issues like this I have a hard time going back to them.

Also if you get caught speeding and you say "My throttle got stuck" it doesn't get you out of the ticket.

Yeah I understand where you are coming from. They need to do better checks and it's hard to trust the manufacturor again but like I said they are at least owning up to the situation and fixing it. Any gun is dangerous its all about safetly handleing the firearm. Im not trying to argue with anyone Im just saying Im not gonna complain with them trying to make my gun safer.

 

And I'm sure Josh was being safe when he was loading it up.

Nope. Aimed at my friends and myself. Jammed a round in the chamber with a hot knife, then let the dog release the slide... finished it up by headbutting the magazine in.

 

Yup sounds pretty safe to me
