Alright thanks man. What kind of steel would you suggest? best combo of weight/strength? None of the fabricators list the kind that they use.. for obvious reasons I would assume.

 

Yes for its time. Still doesn't scream performance. Granted it was faster than the Camaro and a tad slower than the Corvette it still is by no means fast. They were great cars and now that people know what they are doing they are turning them into rocket ships. The best year for the GN is 87 which is late in the game for the 80's. People started to figure out what they were doing. I am not a car guy so I would have to go early 90's and choose the Gmc Syclone over the Grand National.

 

Grand National or the much harder to find GNX were way before their time. These cars nowadays can be put into the 10s and much faster without spending a ton of $$ but good luck finding one.

If I were to do anything 80's it'd be an 88 201 chassis 190 E 2.5 EVO II. 204 bhp out of a 2.5l 16v 4cyl. Actually anything German in the 80's, nothing American

How bout those Foxbodies?

 

Easy to make horsepower, hard to make turn.

Been there, done that, started playing with German cars and never looked back.

You mean he had an E30 M or an 80's M3. Don't know what this M package is you speak of.

The E30 cars had the M-Technic packages, but those were just appearance packages to my knowledge.

if you do an E30 you can make it like my buddy's.

 

No, it was a 2005 330i ZHP, which has M parts, but not an M3.
