Depends on the age of the house for basements and where its built out here. In the 80s there were lots of houses that had them but it seems to be a dying trend out here.

 

Yeah up here we tend to have compact footprints with multiple levels. In Texas pretty much every house I saw was fucking sprawling, but only one story tall.

I like my basement. It has my studio in it.

Where? I have seen two houses in Scottsdale and one 'basement' if you could call it that in Tempe. Not to say they are not out there but working in the housing industry since 2007 I have not seen many. Basements were far from a common practice out here from the 50's on as the cost and necessity did not mandate the need.

That is because there is more land to sprawl on, no need to go up or down when you can just expand out. It cost less to expand horizontally then it does to go vertical in either direction.

I hope guns aren't toys to be taken lightly. I take my guns medium to heavy. Lightweight pistols tend to recoil too much for my taste. My AR weighs at least 9 or 10 lbs with all the cool stuff strapped and the thing shoots 500 yards easy.
