Oh and Colby if you are reading this how hard is it to put a line out converter in one of these trucks I want to either keep my stock radio and add subs and amp to it or just get a new radio with all the stuff this one has so i can run them

Here is how I look at line out converters.

Your stock HU is a turd.

You can polish a turd and make it look nice (see mythbusters Ep 113)

But deep down it's still a turd.

If your source for audio is crap you can only polish it up so much to make it sound good. A good HU is the foundation to a good stereo.

I will only use line out converters if there is no way to install an aftermarket HU into the car/truck in question. Is it easy to install, yes. About the same as installing an amp.

I like the AudioControl LC6i, its a decent price and does well. If you want to make it sound as good as it can be then get a EQ with it as well.

 

Okay so i dont want to polish a turd so what radio whould you suggest and do you know if there is any way to keep my stock rear view camera?

 

There should be some way to wire the stock rear into the RCA inputs on an aftermarket deck. I'm not 100% sure, never looked into it.

The AVIC series are awesome as well but just cost a lot of $$$

Any Pioneer or Alpine that isn't their low end will work. High end JVC/Kenwood are decent as well but not my preferred choice.

and that is not with a hook up at all. just called and that was the price they gave me.

The camera needs some sort of adapter to work and no one can tell me what it is haha
