wont weaken rotors like slots and drilled holes but yet increases stopping power. but this is from research, not first hand experience

the reason i was looking into flat surfaced is because i no longer have the dust shield on the rotors, removed them due to the spindles. Flat surfaced will have a lot less chance of having something get stuck in there....I will do some more research before I pull the trigger.

Drilled/slotted is great on a track car... but that additional stopping power comes at certain costs, and sometimes doesn't do all that much.

It'll eat the pads faster for one.
There's been several cases of design flaws on certain slotted rotors (I know of at least one case on 3000GT's off hand where they were cut to the edge causing a weak point... and would literally explode in autocross/track use). Granted, this is less not a very common issue but it can/does happen.

Like Oli said, on an off-road truck I'd imagine it'd get stuff stuck in there especially if you go mudding or something... and I could imagine it might actually reduce your stopping power making it slick as it wont' be able to self clean like a flat surface will.

I dunno I think on an off-road truck they don't really have a place, but that's just talking out of my ass with no actual personal experience or data to back it up lol.
