Gota love being told you're over qualified for a job, apparently that also means I won't be a good employee lol

That means theyre afraid you'll be accepting of the job until something better suited to you comes along, at which point youll leave and they will maybe be in a tougher position to replace you than they are to hire anyone right now. Or its a bs way to say we like someone else better. In any case, you dont want to work for someone who doesnt trust youll stay or isnt happy to be getting you. Like dating really. Good luck. Make it happen. Dont be a victim...

Btw. It can cost upwards of 40k in training and development time, paid hours, benefits etc for someone to be minimally proficient in their role. Companies want perfect matches these days.

Well if they want perfect matches these day then why dont they ask them selves why they have such a high turn over rating . I mean really there is more turn over now then there were 20 or thirty years ago . Turn over cost money for the company in the long run but thats alright , they know exactly what they are doing because they have a collage degree . lmao .

I understand the whole, hey you don't plan on staying here long but at the same time, there's plenty of jobs that I don't think most people would say they plan on staying at forever, shit I'm just looking to pay the bills, do I plan on staying anywhere other than what I have planned long term, No. But most retail companies can't/shouldn't expect people to stay there forever, it's not realistic.

Look at the corporate world nowadays, they rather fire your experienced ass and get someone for half your pay and deal with the inefficiency and incompetence than pay you the higher salary and possible retirement benefits or they say screw it all together and go overseas.

A month ago I quit on the spot of a company I worked for for three years ( Just said enough was enough ) I was the most experienced and had the most knowledge then the other staff I worked with on my level . I got tired of being treated with disrespect , threatened demanded on . so I walked out . and my stress level dropped by 60% . Had another job that same day but took a huge pay cut but i have a plan for my future .

Well it sucks that I had to ruined a three years work reference but I felt I had no choice ( loooonge story ) Never had a problem getting job but when I was with them i put out 30-40 applications out there in the time i was with them but got no call for interview ( i think they were talking shit about me ) filled out an application with another company while I was with the three year company at the end but did not put them down as a work reference and BOOM , I got a call for an interview and got the job . That was the day I walked out of the three year job .

Um, College... haha. True, turnover is the effect now of companies AND employee having a huge reduction in loyalty; overall that is probably still a good thing and drives innovation vs stagnation. Retail and professional are two different worlds. Im a huge fan of hire good people and train/teach/mold them. It is frustrating that companies are almost too selective and by being that way they miss out on great employees. In any case, getting fired sucks. Ive been there, but the sooner you get over and past being mad about it, youll be better off and will get something else better for you. Btw, I saw vivid racing was hiring. I always wanted to be in that industry, but it just wasn't my path.
