no not buying. Just picking up cbass bike since im already here in Tucson and was coming to phx anyway. Just helping a brother out.

And that bike is what I want too. I like my kawi zx10r but my r6 I liked more except the lack of power when riding doubles. So the r1 is next for me!

I loved my R6 for technical. The R1 would be the daily or double cruiser.
What time will you be around PHX?

My bike hasn't ran in over a year. Put it back together yesterday and got it to fire up. Blue/black smoke coming out of it and its leaking gas.....

This thing may have to go away soon.

cuz Yamaha fan-boy. Yamaha is staying ahead on advancements. S1000RR was my other option until the 15 R1 was released.

I'll let you know if I sell it. It's going to one more guy I found to try and get it to run right. If not, its gone. Considering the fact that I haven't rode it in 2 years and spent more than what its KBB is, it may be time to ditch it and get something new.

Haha how are they staying ahead on advancements? The Kawasaki is the first liter bike with a supercharger producing 300hp. That R1 has maybe 170hp MAX. I haven't been much of a street rider, but in the motocross world, which I have had both bikes, the Kawi was leagues ahead of the Yamaha.

I would state that Yamaha might be a tad more reliable, and a little cheaper is about all.

That's my problem right there. Who knows how well that motor will hold up to boost. I'd give this combo a few years before I got one. The R1 has proven to be a solid engine.

It can't be that bad. I agree with not buying the first model year to allow the kinks to be worked just like any other vehicle in the world. The R1 motor if it hasn't changed that much is of course gonna be a proven motor. It's like the 1GR-FE, don't change shit, bulletproof motor design. haha

The 1.4L supercharged motor that is in my Kawasaki Ultra 310x JetSki runs like a dream, if that says anything about their engineering prowess.

When all is said and done, I wouldn't buy either of them, because a liter bike is about as impractical as they come unless you live on a track.
