You'll be first to know. She's been looking up bikes that are the same make/model/year/miles as hers to get an idea of what it is worth.

And get a REAL helmet. A sketchy helmet won't do jack shit for you. You are going to want quality which costs $$$. That's the issues with bikes, the gear costs more than the bike does. HJC's are total shit. You'd be just a safe wrapping a towel around your head.

Also, $200 is still a 'cheap' helmet. Expect $500+ for a good helmet. Good gloves/jacket will run you another $500 easy. It sucks but its the only thing protecting you so don't go cheap on it.

True to some extent. If the helmet is bad it could cause more damage then protection.

Go find videos of what peoples feet look like when they crash wearing flip-flops. Toes just pop right the fuck off.

I don't care if its 120 outside, I'm wearing full gear when I ride. People who don't wear gear get no respect from me.

I love flip flops. That way people can see my pimpin' toe nails haha.

Funny part about painted toe nails. Older women LOVE it. I get hit on more because I have painted toe nails all the time at the store.

I'm also in 'work out' mode. Lost 30lbs in the last 3 months. I walk about 6 miles a day right now.

If you cannot determine the integrity of a helmet, it won't protect you the way it's supposed to. If it's been dropped, older than xx years (which I think DOT standard is 5 years), dry rotted, cracked etc which determines the protection characteristics of a helmet.

But hey it's your head. Do what you want.

There was a squid/wanna-be that was at cycle gear years ago. I was looking at some full Dainese race suits when a guy came in looking for a jacket.

He didnt want to buy one that was too thick or stuffy because he 'didnt want to sweat and stuff'. The sales guy and I both agreed he was a moron. I'd rather sweat 10000 gallons and my balls off and be in the most uncomfortable gear, than the possibility of bleeding.

Don't mean to insult, but he was one wearing an exo-spine protector being a stunta or wheatever he was over his wife beater. Good for him.

Wouldn't waste my time. Also if it isn't perfectly fitted its useless.

Remember this has to keep your head safe at 100mph+ crashes.

This shows a lot of differences in how well helmets actually take brut force impact.

Edit. I might text you and walk to your place tonight if you are home. Tiff ditched me as always to support her racing habit. So I ain't got shit to do tonight. It's either walk to your place and hang. Or work on the civic some more. Rattle hunting.
