So, let's say id like an 06, 07, 08 taco. (For whatever reason I don't like the sound of an 05? And anything newer will reflect in price. My fav number is 8.....)

Access cab, 4x4, 4.0. Manual trans maybe? What's deal with 6speed manual?

Id love offroad edition with locker, and trd hood.

What's best way? Id like some sort of dealership warranty. Or is this only possible with a new vehicle? How do I find someone to take over payments? How's craiglist work out for such an expensive vehicle?

    20kish price range?

Anyone who knows my truck, think I can maaaaaaybe get 9k for it? I'm up to about 13000 in the truck/repairs/mods.

The 6spd has well known throwout bearing issues... as well as it's gearing is pretty poor (six isn't even an overdrive). It seems most x-runners that are serious do a T-56 swap anyway, which will fix those problems. Additionally it has that retarded rev hold system that makes shifting a bear instead of joy. Normally I go only manual, but in the case of my 08 and 10... the 5spd auto is just a far superior transmission.

Go auto Nick even my 5 speed leaves a lot to be desired. For a locker you'll need trd off-road, hood scewp only comes on sport models.

Second gens are cleaner, nicer, and just overall a nicer rig. That said, first gens are built better. Pick your poison lol...

I like how the better things about 2nd gens are subjective. Also you used "nice" two out of three descriptions :p:stirthepot:

2nd gens are bigger and newer thats it. If I could find a first gen with comparable mileage I would've bought it instead. I like the interior better as well.
