I have a nice AC that uses newer technology such as AC/DC inverter tech as well as modular motors that use RPM not stages like most AC units. The outside unit has sensors that talk to the thermostat so it knows what to do. Honeywell and 1 other manufacture makes a thermostat that can communicate with this AC unit.

I'll leave it nameless because I know to you it's a pile of shit anyways.

I like how the mods come in here and stir the pot. Seems a little counter productive.... :notsure:

This is my ideal goal! Wife with the nice road tripper, then a diesel for DD and towing once I build my pickup into a rock crawler/expo trail rig

Depending on budget, commute distance, and desired comfort; I'd think long and hard if a diesel is needed. The emissions crap and cost of the new ones compared to the efficiency of the recent 1/2 tons is a real tough sell.

I love towing with a diesel and manual trans. But I wouldn't want to rack up the miles and maintenance unless you actually tow all the time. The 6 and 8 speed transmissions in the F150 and Ram are damn nice to drive and are bringing the economy up.

I picked up my 95 F250 for 10k and it sits unless it's moving something.

I'm no savant, but actually doing the annual maintenance will go a long way. Clean the coils and the air handler, clear the drains, fix any bent fins. Changing your filters every couple months.
