It's goes up about a quarter inch when I push the driveshaft up towards the cab. So I'd say yes, a lot of play.

the grease line is not bad, that will happen if you keep up on greasing your u-joints.

also like said above, your carrier bearing sounds like its still okay.

Exhaust fit like a glove. He wanted $250 and we settled on $180. I think it sounds ok, it's gonna take some time getting use to it from stock. I know the wife will hate it though. Probably gonna run it for a few months and upgrade from this.

Well you just cut about 20lbs from the rear so thats a positive. I had the flowmaster 44 exhaust when I purchased my last Tacoma and I hated how ricey it sounded. I figured the magnaflow would be similar.

Looking at the video it seems like a lot to me and the overly shiny part makes me think the rubber is separating from the bushing. This is my opinion though. I would say 1/4 inch total play. That looks like more just pushing up.
How many miles on the bearing? Are there any vibs at launch?

It is quite ricey, but its a nice change up from stock. Figure I'll enjoy my teenage ricer honda years again for a few months then swap it for something better.

any exhaust on our trucks sounds ricey, its a Japanese V6, what do you expect. I have a ton of money invested into my exhaust and I still hate how it sounds and mine is one of the deeper tones I have heard.

For reference I'm running Doug Thorley Long Tubes into a custom built X-pipe under my oil pan and dumped through 2 Aero 2525XLs under the cab along the frame rail on both sides. I'll see if I can find a sound clip

Yeah I figured that's the norm for tacoma no matter the exhaust or money spent. I plan on doing some upgrades to the front side of the exhaust here soon. Maybe that could fix some things. I read taking out the 2nd intake filter kinda fixes some ricey exhaust sound, any truth to that? Seems it would only increase it, but what the hell do I know Im just a dumb grunt.

I sent my buddy a video clip of my exhaust and asking him what he thought. His response was this....FML

He's got too much time and money on his hands.

I will be redoing my exhaust.. Again.. Saturday. Waiting for a lil' sumthin to get delivered today.

If you dont want a ton of rice.. (I say this because Cliff is right.. You're gonna have that rice sound regardless).. Leave it alone.. If anything.. Just weld in a mild muffler.. And be done. No headers, no y pipe, keep the cats, etc.. this all coming from someone who has done all of the above mentioned.

    Puffer? Lol

Yes and no.. Ha. I'm in the process of trying to tame this beast a little. Quiet it down. Possibly removing some things. Etc. In the hopes of finding that love again.. Cuz at this point.. A new truck is in my future.
