I am planning on commuting, but may just find a spot to park and camp. One of the reason I picked up a shell for my truck.

EMT in a rural area is so much more fun than an urban area.

You actually get to do your job. In Phoenix area, Fire has scene command, they do all the work and the ambulance crew just drives and does the paperwork. Also, there is an hospital within 10 mins of any call.

In a rural environment, Fire only shows up if there is a) a fire b) they need to extract someone. You get to actually practice and build your skill set. The hospitals could be an hour away from a crash or medical emergency, so you have to work hard to help people on one of the worst days of their lives.

After 2 weeks of training, I will be working one or two 24 hrs shifts a week, so the commute isn't that bad.

Wife is already looking at houses in Payson.

If your Methods are 108, then those linked will be what you need.

Ehh.. Not worth it imo. Just because URD makes all the upgrades, doesn't mean you have to have them. Plus some people have had issues. Running lean, throwing codes, etc.

Did you order overnight? If you did, that's a ton of money.

That's awesome then, I'm betting it will feel much more rewarding to do it that way. And the motorcycle ride is also great, I used to have a cbr1000 rr that I took on that road. Nothing like 160 through the woods. I thought it would be fun/rewarding to do search and rescue. Does anyone on here do that? Payson is gorgeous too. The smell of pine trees beats just about anything to me.

I was trained as a Search and Rescue diver a long time ago. Right after I moved back to Phoenix, I looked into it with Maricopa County, but the idea of pulling bodies out of Lake Pleasant or canals just wasn't something I wanted to live with. No chance for hope.

I also do a lot training with the ham radio with the Maricopa County Emergency Communications Group (MCECG), we work events to provide safety and build our skills for emergency situations.

Pinal County is always looking for people to do S&R, they offer lots of training. Would be a great place to start if your still interested.
