he has 4 inch lift spindles though, you dont. i would not drop down to 550 without spindles. esp with a 4 door v6

Wanna try and explain how lift spindles are gonna impact my choice of spring rate?

How did it ride on and off road without the spindles? Caddy on road? Spongy offroad?

Did you go with 500's with the intent of knowing you were gonna be adding bypasses? What made you go with 500's?

because spring rate will also determine ride height (partially). thats why people with spindles usually get lower spring rates because they dont need to gain the ride height out of the springs.

To me it rides a little stiffer than stock on road and rides plush off road. I couldnt imagine a 600lb spring. At one time I thought about going to a 450 but never got around to trying it out.

When I bought my kit I talked to total chaos and they recomended a 500lb spring and said if I was 4wd to use a 600Lb spring for the extra weight of the 4wd.
Why not go with the lightes spring possible with a inch or so of preload. That way you have a softer coil rate and the ride height instead of a heavy spring that will fight you when tuning?

ahh that could be why, cause im 4wd

im not very smart on this subject, but if you go with a low spring rate, in order to get any lift your going to need to crank that bitch down reallly far, so i think thats why people get ones a bit stiffer so they only need to crank it a little bit. but with spindles you can typically go really low and run no preload on your springs cause you need no life so that = super smooth.
once again this is my worst subject about LT so take what i say as a grain of salt.

do you know how much more weight the front of your truck has than mine? i wonder if they are the same cause i have 4wd and your 2wd?? if its stiff drop it to 550, but i wouldnt go to 500 without spindles, but thats just me.

    ill be running 550/650

    read this http://www.dezertrangers.com/vb/truck-talk/155457.htm
just to get an idea of what everyone says to run on a first gen

Before spindles I have the coils set at about 1-1.75 in of preload and had roughly the 4" of lift total chaos advertises. I dont like super tall trucks so when I added spindle I back the coil overs off to almost no preload at all.

Personally I prefer the look of hardly no lift on an LT truck.

that lower mount typically is used to clear 4wd axels, but it will work on either. i dont know if it effects anything though.

i actually already offered someone to trade my 2wd mount for their 4wd mount or id trade you...
