In fact.... here's an interpretation from our BMW forums;

First let us explain what a Detailing Clay Bar does before we get into the procedure for using one.

A Detailing Clay bar removes contamination / pollution from your paint. Some contaminants are on the surface of the paint and some are embedded in your paint. A lot of people try to remove these troubles with a polish and find that it is no match. Detailing Clay can usually remove the contaminants with very little effort. Some of the most common sources of paint contamination are pollutant from nearby factories often called fallout, acid rain, brake and rail dust, and paint overspray.

Using Detailing Clay is not only easy but is safe to use on your paint as well. Trust me when we tell you that using Detailing Clay properly and following our procedures and manufacturerís directions will not only be extremely safe but will have your paint feeling and looking better than it ever has.

Tools for using Detailing Clay:
1. High quality Detailing Clay.

2. High quality Clay Lubricant.

Using Detailing Clay:
1. Make sure to wash and dry your car thoroughly first, using our Safe Washing Techniques article. Also it usually works best to clay in a cool shaded area.

2. Take your clay bar and flatten it out a bit to give you more surface area and to make it a little easier to hold in the palm of your hand. It is also a good idea to kneed the clay bar a little to help soften it up.

3. Using a high quality clay lubricant, spray the clay bar and the surface you are about to clay. We recommend doing a small area, approximately 3í x 3í, at a time.

5. Next take the clay in the palm of your hand and rub/glide the clay bar over the painted surface in a back and forth motion. Make sure you use enough clay lubricant so that the clay will glide safely and effortlessly over the surface. Keep the clay and surface well lubricated through the entire process never letting the clay or surface become dry.

6. Once you are done with the section wipe it dry with a microfiber towel.

7. You will notice that your clay bar will become dirty. When this happens kneed or fold the clay until you have clean clay surface to work with.

8. Repeat this process for the entire vehicle. If you happen to drop the clay onto the ground we highly recommend that you throw it away and get a new one. Dropping the clay on the ground could cause dirt and particles to stick to the clay making it unsafe to use on your vehicle.

9. You may also follow the above steps for using Detailing Clay on glass as well.

Remember if you drop your clay on the ground it is all done.
Cut it in half when you get a new one to save half in case you drop it.

Never rub a dry clar-bar across paint/ clear-coat. At worst, and sometimes at best, use a detail spray to wet the area and then rather then drying the area, just wipe the clay-bar over the wet area a few times.

does anyone here have the factory non-jbl plug in to plug into a head unit, my eclipse headunit doesnt plug into the jbl system

Must be cleaner ground than where I was doing mine

I was told this by Adam from Adams Polishes, naturally he will want you to get a new chunk of clay but if it picks up a piece of sand or rock that you do not see and drag it all over the paint it is a bad day.

Clay is amazing what it pulls out of paint that you thought was clean.

Started the projector retro today. Everything is going smoothly so far. Got the lights baked and pulled apart, projectors mounted and aligned, then pulled everything back apart to paint the reflector bowls black. Once they dry I will be mounting the projectors for good then bonding (glueing) them and then the wait begins to let them gas out before I close them back up. These lights are much brighter than the stock headlights and the beam pattern and focus on them is awesome. I will post pics when I'm done.
