Does anybody know the differences between LED pods and LED strips.. as far as light output. I have 10 six LED pods under the truck for rock lights. I haven't really had a chance to test them out.. hard to tell how much light they put out with all the city lights and stuff. I can barely see them on the ground.. but I'm wondering if its because of the surrounding lights taking away from the brightness, and If Im out at night, If they will look bright.

I want to add more.. just not sure if I want pods again or strips.. I want more light on the ground, and more of a continuous field of light. So strips would be better for that right? And pods better for concentrated light?

Guys, I am stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place with this winch decision. (pun intended)

I am debating between the Warn M8000-S for about $950 O.T.D shipped

    OR

The Smittybilt X20 10 Comp series winch for $600 O.T.D. shipped.

Obviously the Warn is the standard by which all else is measured. The X20 comes with a completely waterproof solid state soloniod which is worth its weight in gold as well as being totally waterproofed. Both come with awesome warrenties, aluminum fairleads, and synthetic line.

The X20 Comp is smittybilts top of the line model, I have read some good reviews on it but smittybilt in general is hit or miss on other winches.

    Opinions?

I'm sure either one will do you well man. Warn is pretty much proven... Smitty has been hit/miss in what I read but when it works, it works well. Either one is way above mine lol... and mine seems to work just fine (though I've yet to put a load on it... but I've tested it wet and it works just fine).

If you doubt the smitty why even bother? When you're stuck enough to need a winch it's usually not the time to doubt your equipment

same. It was the first time I have seen one in person. Way better quality then I thought and not nearly as huge as they look on the site. Really don't take up much room
