Yeah the size is a big one for me. I had the shasta and it was just about perfect I couldnt see dropping a size for me the wife and 2 dogs that take up most of the space. And yeah 2k is ridiculous but I camped allot more when I had the rtt and it made life allot easier. I understand and do what you got to do if that means dropping out. I cant force people to go and dropthat kind of coin just to save myself a little cash. Thats pretty selfish and asshole ish of myself :)

I use mine on the colorado trips when Im staying in a spot for atleast 2 days. Sometimes on trips up here aswell for tge weekend. Or if its raining. I like to be able to pull my chair in the annex and sit in there compared to get up inside the tent. But then again i always "try" to avoid going camping in rain. If I get the new sleeve cvt has so you can keep the annex on when you fold it up I would use it more aswell.

Well I'm in either way just depends on what I go with. It's really the perfect tent system for my needs. I probably won't use the annex much to begin with cause it will be mounted on my bed bars which are pretty low. Long term, though, is to get it up higher and utilize the space. I can think of dozens of past trips where it would have been a huge convenience to have the annex room to keep shit in and out of the elements.

Its one of those things Its nice to have and not need. And changing in the annex is so much easier than up in the tent. Even with how low we made the bed bars. But a easy trick to get the tent up higher is to park on rocks. Which you have to do sometimes to level out the truck as it is for sleeping purposes

This is how I prefer to camp although access to tight area's is a 'minor' issue ;)

Tacoma would almost fit in back.

Not sure where yet. I am going to find a spot after work the 15th, then the wifey will bring up the kids after school. Head home Sunday afternoon.

Let me know. Looking for a spot my wife's car can get into. I hate camp grounds.

Our fall back will be off 289D near The Hatchery.

Back near bear canyon they have spots you can get her car Into. They are logged off as dispersed camping spots. Just not our normal kind of spots. No neighbors no rest rooms within a mile or so. Still enough room to wander if you want but close enough to the lake
