    So having it dump at my rear axle is good... Would they still have to get under there to do the emissions? Or would I have to reweld a tip on there?

    I have the exhaust dumped above the axle. They didn't check, just plugged the obd2 thing in and that was it.

    I've been thinking of doing that, but don't know what to say of I get pulled over and they ask.

    They don't do exhaust checks anymore? It's been awhile.. Haha.

    Never looked at mine, i know they hook that thing up to your exhaust if you have a pre 1995 (?) vehicle that does not have obd2 plug in.

    All 96 and newer gas vehicles are OBD-II and just get scanned to verify Readiness Tests are Complete, No Emissions Related Codes and bulb check of the Check Engine Light. They will also do visual inspections for Cat and such plus gas cap leak check.

    @a.smo this^ they never even looked under my truck though. My exhaust is dumped at the axle.

    They didn't check my gas cap either. Its pretty easy to get through emissions in az

    I have always had a turn down right after the muffler dumping before the axle. I haven't had issues passing smog.
