Thats what we are doing also. THe race starts at 6am depending on how everything goes we might have some free time. The Vegas strip is only 45 miles from primm so we might be able to go hang there for a while.

Is anyone interested in Volunteering with us?

This is some information about what would be done:

First off thanks for taking the time to help out SNORE!

As a checkpoint worker your responsibilities are fairly straight forward.

You will be given a pen and paper to wright down each car number as it goes by along with the time, this allows the timing trailer to verify that each car hit each checkpoint.

In the event a race car crashes on or near the course, you have a flag to warn other race traffic around the vehicle.

If the crashed car is unable to move off of the race couse you call in to "RELAY" on the race radio we provide, tell them you need a retrieval ant your location.

Ex. if you were check 5 on the radio

    You "Check five to relay"

    relay "Check five go ahead"

You "I need a retrieval at my location"

In the event of a medical emergency, we always request medical but never give specifics and try to use cell phones unless it is life or death. this avoids panic or worry as the race radio is monitored by all race teams.

We can place you in a spot that does not require you do do any of this, but allows you to work a checkpoint and listen to how things go on during race day that way you get eased into it. That way you don't get overwhelmed.

For the upcoming primm race we have two full days of racing so working a checkpoint requires a commitment to both days.

There really is not a whole lot involved for working a checkpoint, and you get to see parts of the course that are only accessible to racers and volunteers.

Thats it! and we get to be front and center lol

Will a headlight fit in a 12x12x5.5" flat rate box? I measured the headlight and its longer than 12" so I am just curious.

id do UPS when i ship out with my own packaging. the only time i use the post office is when i use the flat rate boxes. but the post office also takes any packaging.

I just dont know which is cheaper. but UPS tracking numbers are a service that i like
