I think my front wheel bearings are going out

 

Have seen them groan and grind without wobble. Go to a parking lot where you can make a few turns. If it gets worse turning left your right one is bad, and going right your left is wearing out.

 

I got to see SDHQ's shop today while helping Amaes work on his bearings. The glass is on the front end of your truck and there are lots of boxes piled up in front of it!

I bought a set of front hub bearings for my 06 4x4 that should fit yours. I ended up not needing them as my old ones are fine. I'll cut you a deal if you want them. Brand new still in box. Can't remember what brand, but I can look at home.

 

Installing the 5100's today was very frustrating and unsuccessful :/

 

how so? seems straight forward to me espcially being a prerunner. 3 top bolts and a bolt on the lca

 

We couldnt drop the LCA

 

dont have to "drop" the lca.

you disconnected the sway bar end link from the spindle right?

did you loosen or remove the uca to spindle nut? that might help as well.

attach the 3 nuts on the not assembly. get the lower part of the shock square with the hole/notch it goings into. get a pry bar under the shock rod end and shove that shit in there man.

if im not busy tomorrow i can stop by and get that done for ya

EDIT: something that *might* help would be to loosen the rear cam bolt a little bit. doing that will allow you to droop* the lca down further and since you have to get an alignment I would not worry about it just tighten it back up

 

I don't have the tools. We go to my friends house. I might just go to U-fix-it or something

I get a keg of it ever few months when it starts to cool down. Having it on tap is awesome.

hey, what would be the cause of steering wheel shake.. brakes? they are squealing pretty bad too.

 

Depends. When is it doing it? During braking or just driving?

 

definitely during braking. slight vibration while driving. havent narrowed down a speed limit it happens at yet either. i was thinking it was either the brakes, balance issue, or something else.

 

I installed a TB spacer installed yesterday. I didn't tell my wife I had installed it and asked her to drive me to the store. She got about 1/4 mile down the road and said "what did you do to your motor, its really smooth". I drove it for 5miles or so after and I can notice its smoother too. I don't feel any more power, but it just seems to rev a lot smoother and run smoother.
