My GF got a job at Dicks sporting goods so now we need two cars. I've been looking at motorcycles or other options and the Honda Ruckus have gotten my attention. Anybody have any experience with them?

    Heres a modded Ruckus

Thats something else that may be a problem since I live in apartments, I dont have a garage to store it safely in

If scooters are one of the gayest things you have ever seen, you've had an easy life so far my friend

If love to have a Rukus to get around town. They are fun little things. But if I was going to spend that much on a two wheeler, I would buy a used motorcycle.

Customizing a scooter is like fucking a fat chick who after some time looses a ton of weight. Sure it was embarrassing at first, but now it's not so bad.

If I had the 2.5k cash I'd buy a used Honda rebel. The pros for the ruckus is that honda offers low financing for it, about $88 per month for 2 years. Since its only 50cc, I will not need insurance (pricey at my age) or a motorcycle liscence. But I need to review az dot laws to be sure.

If you can pay off the bike the insurance is not that bad. My wife's bike which is fully covered and mine which has theft only is about $45 a month. That's for both bikes and one of them falls under Race Ready status with my insurance.

My coworkers are telling me that bike insurance is dependent on the size of motor, not so much on age.

It's both. Have a 16 year old call in on a 1000RR sport bike
then have a 30 year old call in on a 1000RR sport bike. You'll get different quotes even if both have perfect driving records. Experience.

The motor does make it go up. However a Harley 1300cc bike is cheaper than a 750cc Suszuki GSX-R. Why? The Harley can't do 170mph. Sport bikes have a higher death rate from idiots doing stupid shit on them(Squids), and you can lift a GSX-R with two people and put it into a truck easy to steal it. The 1300cc Harley, not so much since it weights double if not triple depending on the model.

It depends on your driving record as well. But if you own the bike and are not making payments, insurance can be very cheap. Go to progressive and call them up, get quotes from them.

Also where the it is stored can affect insurance on bikes too
