When you grow up in a Japanese family, you tend to eat Japanese food. Plus the only Asian restaurants in my hometown were Chinese. No other asians.

If you/re going to do Horseshoe Bend, might at as well do Antelope Canyon. Skip Hoover Dam and go to The Grand Canyon, especially North Rim if you're up there anyway

Lol yes. Every time I visit home, I go to a sushi restaurant that has little boats that float down a river where you can pick and choose what you want. I usually just get a custom order though.

We have some pretty decent sushi spots here. Nothing compared to the East coast but still some really good spots in town.

I'm only 1/4. My mom is half Japanese, half white. My dad is super white and country. I'm an interesting character.

If I was going to move up there I'd prob live in Vancouver, just to be close to family & have Portland across the way. Pretty sure it was no income tax in WA and no sales tax in OR.

What part do you want to live in?

We did the Portland area, Astoria, then drove up to Seattle.

Portland is FULL of breweries, so we went to like 10 of them, will have to look at the pics to remember the names, but cousin's husband is a huge craft beer dude so he took us around to his favorites. Lots of cool little restaurants.

Astoria is cool if you like the Goonies, and then there are like 3 breweries I think.

Seattle we did all the tourist stuff, market place, the needle, Starbucks, etc. stayed in Woodinville with friends & I grilled for everyone since I'm a foodie.

If you Smoke weed, there's a strain I've only found in WA called Golden Pineapple, try it out its one of my favs.

I'm in Flag now. Like the small town feel. GF is from a small town in WY and went to Bozeman for her undergrad so we wanna keep with the smaller cities rathan than being knee deep in Portland or Seattle. I was born and lived in Seattle for 12 years before moving to AZ.

I looked into Vancouver and it seems really nice. My GF is worried that if we live in WA then she'll have to get her counseling license in WA and only work there, instead of in Portland across the way.

Definitely planning a lot of the trip around all the best breweries though. Let em know if you have any favorites!

I honestly was getting the lesbian vibe from you until you said men with beards are a weakness. :anonymous:
Maybe its the Daria reference. That cartoon was not my cup of tea.

Not that I give a shit if you like girls or boys tho. Regardless, i think you will really like AZ and some of our people.
A great place to open your mind (after a saftey meeting) and eat some food.

Let us know when youre going to be here and we will do our best to keep Brian away.

When you got he the market though, there's this donut cart inside at the bend (market is L shaped).

BEST DONUTS EVER, made fresh to order. I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about them.

Portland = voodoo donuts are badass, very trendy with tourists like me, but fun place to stop.

There's a better donut place than voodoo, can't remember the name of it.

If you're looking for breakfast food in Portland, there was this place called baby cakes or sizzle cakes or something that you can make your own pancakes at the table since there's little grills in the table. Fancy ass batters, fun place with kids or if you and the lady like to try fun little places. The pancakes are bomb too.

Bosa all the way. Wish we had one here in Flag.

Voodoo is such a tourist trap... I'm staying away from there haha. Pancake place sounds good though!

My grandpa thinks I'm a lesbian because Im not married and don't have kids.
Bearded men are my jam. But even some non-bearded men are cool too.

Safety meeting? Is this a requirement? Do I get a complementary fire extinguisher? Maybe a reflective vest? I'm liking the sound of this.

Right now, my trip is looking like the last week of September through the first week of October. But we'll see.
