When Sean said.. "Some of you are gonna shit.." In my head I was thinking.. "That means books, I'm gonna win!" It was a major let down.

Love the bed rack, just have to find some time to make some mounts for it(hi-lift, shovel, axe, co2, etc.) I get lots of compliments on it and I love the fact that I can still put my camper shell on with it.

Funny you should mention that. I officially cut her loose tonight.

I won't go into the details online but all I have to say is that I have every reason to be EXTREMELY pissed and go full on belligerent asshole about how things went down...
But that's not my style. I was very calm and cool and basically said I couldn't get past what happened. It was fun while it lasted, blahblahblah.

Her reply? "What does this do to our Oregon Eclipse trip?" o_O

I told her, "Well, it's cancelled is what it is... For you."

I was going to pick her up at the airport and take her with me to my home town for what would have been an extremely fun trip. Don't get me wrong, I'M 100% going and 100% going to have a fucking blast -but not with her. She had the gall to tell me I was leaving her high and dry and she paid $$$ for plane tickets, etc. A large part of me wanted to ask her if she would rather me tell her now that I wasn't cool with that idea, or let her figure it out at the Portland airport with zero contacts in the state and me not answering my phone. There's plenty to do in that airport but I wouldn't personally want to be stuck there for 5 days. As far as I'm concerned she should count her lucky stars that I'm not a vindictive prick because there are so many ways that trip could have been the perfect vehicle for revenge.

The biggest thing I can't fathom is what she thought it would have been like driving from PDX to Newport 3-4 hours each way in my dad's truck he's lending me...
    Not awkward at all, NOOOOOOOPE.

Cutting the losses and moving on. There should be plenty of talent in town next weekend so I'm not even worried.

Its not long, less than a mile iirc but the entrance is steep, the inside is rocky and not leveled or smoothed out anywhere. If your not careful it would be easy to trip. Super fun and cool little hike though

Good for you man. That shit is always a big let down. Personally I'd probably have left her in Portland. But I've been burnt too many times to give a shit anymore.

Yeah, what I've found is that it seems to piss them off MORE if you don't get aggro on them.

I'd rather let her stew in her own guilt/anger/whatever than give her the satisfaction of losing my cool over her stupid ass.

    Stupid question:
Would this be doable with kids that are 6 and 10? I have my girls this weekend and canceled on a camping trip invite because the oldest has a cough/cold starting.
If it's a day trip that's not eleventy hours in the rig getting there and back... Maybe we would be in?

Yep they'll be fine. As long as they're not afraid of the dark. When we took the cub scouts they were all between those ages.

Ya definitely, its just outside of flag, smooth dirt road for a few minutes. Short hike through the woods to the tubes, short hike through them to the end. Reverse and your back in an hour or less if you don't stay long.
