I’ve actually said that and meant it far too many times this month.

So, let me preface this by saying that I AM going to get my HAM license. I have the study guide and all that.

That said, anyone want to show me how to use these baofengs that I have sitting in the back of my truck. I dont have any channels (freqs?) or anything programmed on them, would love to have someone show me some things on there.

They're super straight forward man. Still have the little book they give you?

Wonder if we could get enough TW guys together to do a test session on our own? Since most people have radios now haha.

No, I lost it in the move. I'm sure i can figure it out, but a test session thing would be great, especially if we can program the planned freqs / channels / whatever that will be used on the Jan 20th run.

Went fishing in Homer and one of the guys in our group lives in AK. Im not a big salmon guy, so gave him my salmon to smoke at home. He repaid the favor by sending me down about 65lbs of Moose since I loved it so much while I was there. Mostly burger, but some hotlinks, roast, and steak too.

Hands down one of my favorite meats!

Moose burger is money, Im not a big salmon guy either, I always fished for halibut and red snapper, still caught the limit on salmon every time I went out pretty much, because so many people like it, I just gave it away

Same here. Last year I traded lb for lb with a few different guys my salmon for their halibut. Not sure what the big draw is to salmon, I mean I'll eat it and all if I'm at someone's house, but I'd never actually buy it anywhere.

Yeah when I lived there I caught it for fun and gave it to people for brownie points. Anyone that buys salmon is o_O

    To me anyway

I might still have one laying around, ill look. I have like 4 of those things haha

Most on here don't have licenses (myself included) so I'm sure we could get a big enough group, we just need someone to proctor it. The runs in the past we have used "Weatherman" which is a PCI commercial freq and technically doesn't require a license but its frowned upon.
