Lol. I lived at home through college. Not that I didn’t want to move out, but I couldn’t afford it and my parents weren’t going to give me a free ride. However, I moved out a couple weeks after graduation.

In my case my parents house was so close to asu that it didn’t make sense to pay rent to be 10 mins closer. I regret not being able to do that, but in the long run it made sense. But I pulled my weight at the house. And I had a job and parents never gave me money or an allowance.

Don't even get me started with the kids who don't want their driver's license. That's another thing I was stealing my parents car and taking it out when I was 10 years old.

I have a good friend that moved back to his parents house in California. He had a house and everything but didn't like the responsibility so he moved in with Mom and Dad. He's 38 years old and he tells people he's taking care of them which is absolute bullshit. It makes it kind of hard to respect him as a man because of that.

Funny. When I was in high school I wanted to get a job, but my dad wouldn't let me, he wanted me to study and get good grades so I could go to college. (My dad was a Depression baby, he had to quit school in the third grade to get a job hauling ice for a penny a block so his family could eat.) So I joined the Navy out of high school. Sorry, Dad. I lived at home for eight months after graduation until the Navy had a billet open for my rating (nuclear power program). In a way it worked out, my dad was on 100% disability because his back, shoulder, and wrist were all jacked up from a work accident he'd had eight years before, so he and I got to spend a lot of time together. He passed away about a year after I left for boot.

I've lived with my mom a couple of times, like when I was home on leave, or when I got out of the Navy and was getting on my feet. But we don't get along very well, and almost every time it wound up in a fight. Her and I just get along better at a distance.

My brother-in-law is living with his parents right now. It's more sad than infuriating. He's not a bad guy, he's actually helping my in-laws a lot. They're getting up there in age so he does all the shopping for them and keeps up the house and everything. But he doesn't have a SO or a career. What's he going to do when his parents pass? He's going to be a forty-something guy with no life.

Had a girlfriend in college who was like that (No DL) and it was infuriating mainly because she had absolutely no sense of direction.
"I don't know the street name but it's right after a tree..."
"Kelly we are in a fucking forest holy shit"

"Let me know when the turn is coming up."
    "OK"
    moments later
    "Oh, that was the turn..."

:annoyed: I made so many illegal u-turns with her in the car.

Also to contribute to the discussion, I moved out when I was 18. Only time I went back was for a couple months while I was between my apartment lease and closing on my house. That was a long ass couple months

AZTW: finding sugar daddys for your sister since 2018.

I moved out at 18 to go to college, and at 24 came back for what was originally intended to be about a year or two before I bought a house. Put a deposit on a new home in a community (yet to be built) and then shit hit the fan in my life. Got laid off because of the subprime collapse, then about a year later was diagnosed with a laundry list of autoimmune diseases and spent a while really, really sick. Got myself scraped back together and got a job in the auto industry just in time to see SAAB eat shit and declare bankruptcy in a year which led to my business unit getting sold off.:bananadead: Can't catch a break sometimes man.
I'm so unimaginably grateful that my parents helped me through the tough times, but moving to AZ has made such a difference for the better.

This discussion sucks. My life has taken such an absurd turn!!! Fortunately it is temporary, but as a nice guy with lots of extra room, I let some people in... 19yo... no DL's, all Kardashian and on line gaming... no DL's, not even permits!!! Wait.... she is pregnant!?!?!?!?! WTF!?!? She has an app to guide her through pregnancy.
    Yesterday:

her: (while getting food I bought from fridge) "My baby app says I need to do less and take a break"
me: (seething with sarcasm) "If you do anything less, you may as well stay in bed!"
her: (with a smile) "I was just thinking I should go take a nap"

    FML

I may have been better off as a disgruntled whore!

I would WALK HOME from first grade (1/2 mile) to my dads bar and buss tables for 4 hours. I always hustled as a kid. Mowing lawns, shoveling snow, collecting bottles cans, and newspapers door to door. 3 paper routes till I was 16, then forged paperwork to get a job at a restaurant as a dishwasher. I was night shift manager 1 year later! Had my 18th birthday IN the Navy.

Fuckers! If I hear once more... I have an idea for an app.....
