I didn’t say yes haha. Shafts are cheap to Replace if they get pitted. And will take a lot of dirt miles to do so. Boots trap in all sorts of dust and can lead to seals failing sooner. If the TT guys don’t run them then they aren’t needed for a stock replacement shock.

I guess I misinterpreted your post then, that if you drove on dirt you needed them.:notsure:

I got 'em because without relocating the resis to run a roost guard, $10 seemed like cheap insurance.
Anyways I see your point, but at the same time TT guys don't daily drive the rigs and the inspection / replacement mileage is a much more intensive interval.

Like you could make the same argument about uniballs... how many uniball UCAs get installed on Tacos and then look like this a few months down the road:

Versus how many people take the time to inspect, clean, and PTFE lube them? And that's like, a 5 minute job tops, nothing at all like replacing a shock shaft.

I was told by SDHQ not to zip tie the bottoms down so it acted more as a cover then an actual "sealed" boot and that dust wouldn't be an issue.

Not that it really matters at this point because I won't be putting them on the truck for a little bit.:turtleride:

The if you drove on dirt thing was a joke/burn that you actually have to off-road it and now just drive on roads/freeways. Even then as he just said it’s not needed, which is why no one here in az said yes get them.

Our buddy ballztaco got a ban for simply posting a pile of meat in the shape of a tent, they felt that was to close to a vagina and so got a week or something.

Yes trans has an extra gear and most likely attributes to the feeling of power difference.

The extra gear is mostly worthless. You need to be going downhill with a tail wind for it to be in that gear :)

Dude I think you need an LED backlit Toyota or emblem on your white and blue truck.

I was down in the valley today and test drove a couple tundras:

    https://www.righttoyota.com/inventory/Used-2016-Toyota-Tundra-SR5CrewMax-5TFDW5F15GX517535/

They offered 17,000 for my Tacoma. And we talked numbers for both the 2016 and a new Tundra.
Decided to hold off for now, rather sell my Tacoma on my own if I do, and if I'm going to buy used I'd rather do that private party also. My truck is paid off, so not really interested in a truck payment at the moment.
