Y’all ever play fight with your lady? Well I got a funny story. Lol
The woman & I were fighting & halfway in the fight she goes & comes back with a gallon of half full downy & tries swinging yelling out “COME HERE YOU FAT CUNT!!!!”
I started dying I fucking peed myself a little. Laughed so hard she couldn’t go through with the swing & started laughing too. Shit was hilarious :rofl::rofl:

Edit: What made it even funnier was the stupid determination on her face to come back into the room & hit me with that thing. Lmao. Good times

Oh, actually if we have summoned @Plastics Guy ...

How hard is HDPE/UHMW to work with and how easy is it to get as a raw material? Are there places I can just order it and bring it to a water jet cutter?

It seems like it's readily accepted as a skid material for powersports, but not so much on trucks...

I'm thinking about making a transmission skid and a pair of lower control arm skids out of it, considering as how it would only weigh 3-4 pounds total on something that doesn't need crazy protection to begin with.

It looks like the suspension is at full droop, though, or damn those tie rod end angles are scary...

They are taller than stock. Under load they compress to the same height as stock. The extra height of mine is where the magic is. My bump stops do not interfere with the up cycle of your suspension at all.

Here is a pic of the OEM, OEM w/Total Chaos spacer and my bump stop.

With @2ndGenJonny truck my bump stop may need to be a little taller still. We will find out soon enough, but for everyone running factory LCA's the bump stop pictured has proven to work very well.20180714_134515.jpg

You can buy sheet HDPE and have it water jet cut. HDPE is still very heavy. I'm not sure of the top of my head what the specific gravity of HDPE is compared to steel, but I'd guess its 60% of the weight in steel. Not sure that it would really be worth the time and hassle.

Another thing with HDPE once you start dragging it over rocks it's going to start looking beat to hell.

Most people do it for the gram nitori does it for the pages of write ups, and month long banter to himself of reworking the wheel.

Really? All the stuff I've found online about HDPE online say about 1 pound / square foot in 1/4" thickness. Which is about one tenth of steel at the same thickness, and about a third of aluminum.

But yes I know that it does not touch up as well and will look scraped to hell which is why I'm not considering it for "high traffic" areas.
