I still need trimming and my slider fixed before my next trip out.

Gears will be broken in by Saturday, should be wiring up the locker and changing fluids then. Bumper finishing is next weekend.

So 3 weeks? Operation shakedown for Justin & Jonny?

Maybe stumbles will be ready for a throwback to grass roots in the golf ball.

I need to get with brandon about fixing that slider now that the suspension and tires are fresh.

Yeah, the runner and 31s will be ready. I have the pieces for sliders. I just need to weld them together. I also still need to replace the seal for the front output on the transfer case.

Since everyone is on about wheels and tires this afternoon, I would really value everyone's input on wheels and tires for my truck. I should have my lift next week, or thereabouts. I am trying to determine what wheels to go with. I was trying to decide between 16 and 17. I have always felt that more rubber is better...at least in tires. I like the SCS F5 but the strange offset is kind of pulling me away. I am also a fan of the new method 701s in black. I'm not sure if the BeadGrip is actually going to provide much functionality, but if so, that's great! I am not really a fan of the ornamental rivets. I never have been. I have a set of 16" RRW in my garage, which were taken off a 3rd gen. I could always use those, although I would need a full-spare, so I would be short 1 wheel, and who knows when I would be able to get one from them? Any other wheel options anyone can think of, or thoughts on these? I could always wait until mid-to-late August to get the 701 wheels, and just wait to install the lift, but I would get all antsy in my pantsies if it were just sitting in my living room all boxed up. And who knows if that time ETA would be something they adhered to.

The next question is tires. I went by SDHQ this past weekend and their Tacoma is essentially running the same lift and is sitting on 295/70/R17. It seems like most are running 285/75/R17, so basically 33 or 34. I suppose I am looking for more function over form. So I would definitely love to hear any thoughts you guys have.

    Thanks in advance.

What kind of HONEST wheeling are you planning to do with the truck? Thats your first question to answer. If all your doing is fire roads the function your looking for is much different than many that have been posting today.....

@RPS1030, @Blender, @stumbles,@4Running Daily and myself all play pretty hard in the rocks and are gonna be biased. Especially when it comes to size of tires/wheels...

But It's on the way to Florence and since when do you need armor? Youre probably one if the most capable experienced drivers in here.

Just kidding, but seriously you could technically pick it up. Just would hate to not have you there.

Sounds like you're ready for Elvis now?

Justin and Nate make valid points on what deciding what you want to do with it, but also consider that if you do feel you'll hit the boulder filled trails then don't spend $$$ on nice wheels. I assure you that they will get fucked up.

All 4 of my Sequoias got rash the last time out.
