Well this has been a hell of a week. Tonight I am drinking!

We went under contract on a house.... home inspection came back with a lot of shit, let's hope the seller steps up and deals with the 50% I am asking them to... otherwise we walk.

Signed a listing agent, trying to clean and declutter our house so we can get pics taken and get it on the market. We have 3 kids, a dog and two birds... we have a lot of shit. I rearranged the garage, again, so we can start packing shit up and storing it in there.

The move will be good. We need more space, away from the HOA (not for us), closer to our church, and the girls' school, also closer to our friends. Finally, the RV gate and parking will really help my parents out by allowing them to store their RV at our house, plus have them closer to the grandkids when they are visiting. Most of the money they will save, they plan to put into the house for us... RV pad with dedicated power, water, and sewer. Garage upgrades, etc, etc. They are cool like that. There just is a lot of stress with buying and selling.

Let's add another stressor to all this... A couple of Fridays ago, I went in for my annual blood work before my physical. Saturday morning the on-call doc calls me at home and tells me I need to come in for more blood work on Monday morning, as soon as the office opens. Slightly unnerving. Do the blood work and get a call Tuesday morning, I need to see a Hematologist. Hematologists are all Oncologists too, even more unnerving. We get an appointment the very next week, this last Tuesday. Great doc, really knows his shit and talks in normal terms. Side note, my wife is the Quality Manager for a major lab company, she works in their genetics oncology division, so she has a first-hand knowledge of this sort of thing and what the tests really show. Back to the story... The doc tells me he thinks I have CML. It's a type of leukemia. Yeppers, the big L word. Apparently CML is the lottery of leukemia, if I have it, then it is treated by a daily pill that has manageable side effects. Also, by finding it early, via the annual blood work, it is even easier to get it managed. The doc believed that if untreated, I would be really sick in the next 3 months. But we found it, so we think. That same day I went for a Bone Marrow Biopsy. If you don't know, they stick a needle in your hip, just above your ass crack. They inject some fluid into the hip and then extract liquid marrow and then the put a larger needle in, and grab some solid marrow (it's starting to turn into bone, so solid is attached to the bone). They give you nice drugs, so the procedure doesn't hurt much, but the sound of a drill pointed at your ass was very unnerving. The next day or two really sucks as your bones and body do not like this invasive procedure. So, I am still waiting to get the test results back. I have an appointment on Wednesday to learn the results. Right now, I don't even know what I don't know... so not getting too worried or worked up.. It is weird sitting here hoping for CML, as the alternatives are much worse.

Thats my week in a nut shell. Time to pour another drink.
