    Think I’ll start by ditching the factory ground in the harness and just running the ground itself from the radio to a bolt under the dash somewhere

    That’s where I’d start, I’d also tie the existing ground to the new ground as well to insure whatever else is in the circuit is grounded

    Good point. Going to be tight to properly ground everything under the center part of the dash to a nut/bolt. Already have so many switches etc there

    Ground a wire nut and bolt then tie into existing by cuting, soldering heat shrink shouldn’t be too tight
